What things do you do for fun?

You know... there are so many things that I'd LIKE to do that I've never done before. A lot of people talk about how fun Kareoke (sp?) is. I can really sing, but I've never done kareoke before. That's embarrassing because, I think I'd be good at it. Id love to fly kites, but where we live, when the weather's nice, it's also too hot out to really enjoy that. I love being up in Oregon where they have kite shops and bike shops (yes!) I have a picture in my mind of the kind of bike I want. I had a bike for a while. A nice 3 wheel bike with a basket on it. It got a flat tire the first day I had it. Over time, I did ride it, and enjoyed it... but then we moved into an apartment.

The bike sat out on our patio all the time, but it didn't fold up on the back, so it was really hard even to get in & out our front door. There was no seperate gate from the patio to outside. So the bike sat out there and got three flat tires. We eventually put it into storage. So, the bike riding has become another fantasy. When I was little, I LOVED going fishing at the lake with my dad. We'd take the barbecue (everything in the back of his pick up). All of us, including the dog, would ride in the back of the truck, get up to that lake and fish and get wet, and eat (& eat some more) while listening to Lynnard Skynnard and Steely Dan (OF COURSE we had a radio! :) (FUN!)

Course... at that time, people weren't "in trouble" for not wearing seatbelts. You also could fish without a license. I don't go fishing enough to pay all that money for a fishing license. I absolutely loved going to drive-in's on summer nights. We'd get take out for dinner, and then head to the movie. This also was great fun in dad's truck. It got down to where we had 1 drive in left where I live, but then somebody decided we needed ANOTHER Costco (!!!) Goodbye drive-in. I remember my dad's neighbor's had a boat. A couple times we went fishing on that. (great fun)! I have ridden a horse a few times, but never got to where I was comfortable with it. For me, just getting on them is a real challenge. But I did have fun once I was up there.

I love, love, LOVE the beach! Ironic...considering I don't swim :) I love picnicing on the beach and camping, and just laying out and letting the sun drench me. I love looking for shells and seeing the sun set on the ocean. Surfing and jet skis are out (sorry :) But I do love the beach! I love parades & barbecue's too. I like going to cities and different places and just walking around and looking...taking all the sites in. Getting something to eat or drink and just people watching. I love shopping as I travel. Honestly, I'm a big fan of all the vendors that hang around for the tourists. (yes, I have to be careful because it gets expensive and you have to carry around everything you bought.) I like places by the beach... where it's cool: San Francisco, Astoria OR, Monterey CA, Seattle, WA, Brighton, England....Oohh, didn't expect that one, did ya? :) I also LOVE Victoria, BC Canada

But the cheapest way I know how to have fun, is just to kick back and watch a good movie with some good food (whether it's dinner, lunch, popcorn, or something with ice cream). Just kick back on the couch and put your feet up. And this is how I have fun most of the time. In fact, a lot of times...it's just the movie Food is expensive like everything else. I may just fix a sandwhich and then watch the movie :) More later :)
